This move into tacticals was made with a great deal of planning and the introduction of a complete line of black knives. The entire line was designed by Custom Knifemaker Russ Kommer and is recommended by edged-weapon instructor Jared Wihongi. Jared has 25 years experience in the martial arts, particularly with the Filipino blade-fighting system of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. He is highly sought after as an instructor with the U.S. Army Special Forces groups, the DEA, and many other organizations. He also serves as a reserve SWAT officer in Utah. Jared has worked very closely with Russ on the development of every Browning Black Label Tactical Knife and personally makes sure they are up to the demands of real world users like himself. The blade shape is based on timeless classics and has proven itself through centuries of combat. The handle is made of textured tan G-10. The 3-1/2" tanto blade is made from 7Cr17MoV stainless steel with a hardness of 56-57 Rc. and has a matte black stonewashed finish. Closed length is 4-5/8". Weighs 4.3 oz.
