With a press of the lock button, the knife can be closed with one hand without placing your fingers in the path of the blade like your standard liner lock flippers. “This knife contains no springs. It is a manual flipper yet acts surprisingly like an automatic,” Bruhns said.The knife boasts a 2.75-inch drop point blade which comes either stone wash tumbled or with a black Cerakote finish. The blade is made from .120-inch thick CPM154 steel and offers corrosion resistance while providing edge retention. It’s also cryogenically heat-treated to 57-59 RC, then hand-sharpened and honed. The X1-Microflip sports a Type III hard coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum frame sculpted for an ergonomic grasp and one-handed deployment. According to the press release, the frame is patterned an escalating indent texture for added grip traction and includes a pointed impact pommel. It also features a reversible clip and filler plate for ambi tip-up carry.
