Paul Chen Cas Hanwei SH12050 Classic Tiger Wakizashi by Paul Chen/Hanwei! The Return of a classic! The return of a classic pairing .. our Tiger Wakizashi from Hanwei is a nostalgic reissue of the original (SH1205) folded steel katana made in the early 2000s. The specifications are painstakingly reproduced for accuracy. The K120C powder steel blade is deferentially tempered with a traditional claying method to the grain pattern (hada) showing distinct layers. The temper line (hamon) is evident and prominent. The blade features a groove (bo-hi) on both sides. The tsuba is made from blackened iron depicting a "stalking tiger" inlaid in brass. The ray skin is covered on the handle (tsuka) with Japanese Cotton. The saya is deeply lacquered in black and inlaid with brass bamboo leaves.
